Makes you wonder… is it just science, or does his mental “rock-paper-scissors” also apply to facts, policy, etc. If God always gets the winning rock – when can anything else be paper?
“Oh, I believe in science. I certainly do. In fact, what I believe in is, I believe in God. I dont think theres a conflict between the two. But if theres going to be a conflict, science changes with every generation and with new discoveries and God doesnt. So Ill stick with God if the two are in conflict,” – Mike Huckabee.

Perhaps they are students of the “shenis”…?
“They are Hamas-trained” says Darwish.
Hamas is training female Muslim Wellesley students in pretend pee techniques? They don’t miss a trick, that Hamas, ya gotta give ‘em that. That’s a new one on me. But wait, there’s more.

There really is nothing more I could say about this….
The Shenis (yes, sounds like “penis”!) is a hollowed out, 12-inch long fake penis intended for women to use as a tool to pee while standing up. As its creator Kiki Curry states in the video clip above, it’s great for hiking, boating, peeing outdoors, and intimidating men! And while we don’t like doing physical activities in nature, we’d love to try this out while drunk on the streets of New York. P.S. Kiki Curry is our new fave kook.

I guess it is a novel reason why the Catholic Church is against condom use, although I always prefer the Monty Python “every sperm is sacred” argument, personally.
Here’s the archbishop of Mozambique claiming that some people have infected condoms with HIV to kill Africans:
“I know of two countries in Europe who are making condoms with (the) virus on purpose, they want to finish with African people as part of their program to colonize the continent,” Archbishop Francisco Chimoio told Reuters.

Wow! Now wouldn’t this be a cool way to go to school each day – save for the swirling mass of churning child eating and crushing water below.

Yu Lina, a third-grade student at the Center Primary School of Maji Township, crosses the Nujiang River using a zip-line on her home from school September 15, 2007 in Fugong County of Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. About half of the school’s students, estimated at 150, have to use zip-lines to get to school, since the only three hanging bridges are far away.

I guess you are never too old to play with your Wii (get your mind out of the gutter!)
According to this news article (via Shiny Shiny via Boing Boing):
The fastest growing segment of Wii players might be… the OAP crowd. The golden-years set are putting down their knitting and whittling (if indeed anybody still knows how to knit or whittle and isn’t just an indie punk) in favour of the Wiimote.
Residents of the Sunrise Home in Birmingham, ranging in age from 80 to 103, are getting “quite competitive” with the console game, featuring tennis, bowling and boxing. It all began when a chef brought in the console to while away his own breaks, and the breaks turned into an outbreak of Wii fever. Doubtless Grand Theft Auto gangs are only a tax refund away. As often as the Republicans scream “We support the troops” you would think that they – ahh – actually, support the troops. Unless, of course, you consider calling a killed soldier stupid as supporting the troops.
Have they no shame?

Montana conservative attacks fallen soldier over op-ed.
Earlier this week, Sgt. Omar Mora and Sgt. Yance Gray, who recently co-wrote a New York Times op-ed critical of the Iraq debate, were killed in a vehicle accident in Western Baghdad. The two fallen soldiers have since been hailed for serving their country and speaking out on Iraq.
But one former conservative state Senator in Sgt. Gray’s home state of Montana, Dave Rye, has chosen to attack him for the op-ed, claiming he and his fellow soldiers weren’t intelligent enough to write it on their own: Pardon my skepticism, and certainly no disrespect for the dead Montana soldier, but in my time in the Army I never heard such a word as “recalcitrant†escape the lips of any Staff Sergeant. I doubt if it’s spoken all that much in Ismay, either.
The soldiers had the help and probably the encouragement of a writer with an agenda, from a newspaper which has always had one. Its continually declining circulation now mainly consists of those who want desperately to consider themselves sophisticated as well as compassionate, even if that means always branding the U.S. as the chief villain on the world stage—in fact, especially if it does.

Adios miscreant!
I couldn’t have said it better myself Harry:
“Alberto Gonzales was never the right man for this job. He lacked independence, he lacked judgment, and he lacked the spine to say no to Karl Rove. This resignation is not the end of the story. Congress must get to the bottom of this mess and follow the facts where they lead, into the White House.“
