So – and we’re back with another season of politics and boy has the Republican party given us a heaping dose of lunacy this cycle.

Of all the pictures from the campaign so far–including those depicting state farm fellatio–my favor has to be the below. It truly depicts what all of us sane people are thinking.

I really don’t particularly care for cowards. I place John McCain in this camp as well as Blanche Lincoln, Mark Pryor (“democrats” from the backwater refuge of Wal-Mart and Tyson) and the rest of the republican goofballs in the US Senate.

I think this cartoon summarizes it perfectly:

Anyone who is willing to give their life in the service of this country should be honored, respected and held up as an example of a real “hero”.

I can only hope that one day people look back at filibustering the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy and conclude that it was a cowardly and craven act. John McCain is craven and cowardly.

Shame on you. Shame.

I know “douche” and “douche bag” have become a bit overused and overwrought in 2009, but I really can’t think a more appropriate term for Joe Lieberman. Asshole is so – underwhelming. It really doesn’t capture the full range of vileness that Joe has become. The total lack of self-awareness is quite stunning actually – does he really think that the folks outside the DC beltway can’t see that his “deeply held beliefs” are nothing more than an old man’s scream of “GET OFF MY LAWN!”

An 11-year-old girl died after her parents prayed for healing rather than seek medical help for a treatable form of diabetes, police said Tuesday. Everest Metro Police Chief Dan Vergin said Madeline Neumann died Sunday.

“She got sicker and sicker until she was dead,” he said.

Vergin said an autopsy determined the girl died from diabetic ketoacidosis, an ailment that left her with too little insulin in her body, and she had probably been ill for about 30 days, suffering symptoms like nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, loss of appetite and weakness. The girl’s parents, Dale and Leilani Neumann, attributed the death to “apparently they didn’t have enough faith,” the police chief said.

The family does not attend an organized church or participate in an organized religion, Vergin said. “They have a little Bible study of a few people.”

Crooks and Liars is a phenomenal website for a bit of snark, stupid political people and off the beaten path music. And… oh yeah… they have great videos and pictures.

A couple of favorites for today – although the eagle creeps me out a bit.
