I am disgusted that we – yes, we Americans – would willfully treat one of our citizens and fellow human beings in this manner.

Yes, I know – it isn’t cool to love the French. I guess I don’t love all the French – especially not Parisians – but I can appreciate their willingness to go one step beyond where everyone else will ever go in order to make a point. The pragmatic reality that this ad will do more to inform younger males is undeniable.

Yes, it is nice to feel proud again – proud of our potential leader, proud of our ability to overcome our history and prejudices, and proud that no matter how much slime, muck and filth is thrown at him, Senator Obama continues the theme of his campaign until the very end – we are the United States of America.

In a way, it is really sad that someone who has served their country in such an honorable manner has to stand on the same stage as the rest of the Republican nimrod candidates and grovel for votes.
